Newsstand: Sam Hartman, other Notre Dame transfer additions arrive on campus
Notre Dame’s four mid-year enrollee transfers have arrived on campus for the spring semester. The Irish’s official Twitter account provided the confirmation – and the first look of them in their new team’s gear.
Quarterback Sam Hartman (transferred from Wake Forest), wide receiver Kaleb Smith (Virginia Tech), safety Thomas Harper (Oklahoma State) and defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste (Ohio State) begin classes Tuesday, which marks the start of the spring semester. They were on campus and in the team facilities Monday.
The tweet with all four in the locker room shows Smith and Hartman in the first picture, with Harper and Jean-Baptiste in the second. All are grad students with one year to play. Hartman, Smith and Jean-Baptiste are entering their sixth year of college.
The fifth transfer in this class, kicker Spencer Shrader, will enroll in June after spending the spring semester finishing his degree at South Florida. He also has one season left to play.

Quote of the Day
“This was one of my favorite visits I’ve taken to Notre Dame. Getting around the ’24 class was amazing. We have a really great group of kids [committed]. I think I had already met everyone, but we hadn’t been all together at one place.”
