Newsstand: Notre Dame baseball returns to Link Jarrett’s alma mater, Florida State
After several jam-packed weekends of basketball and hockey, the Notre Dame athletics calendar is slowing down a bit. The notable thing on the schedule for this weekend is a trip down South to Tallahassee, Fla., where No. 13 Notre Dame baseball (13-5, 2-4 ACC) will take on No. 5 Florida State (16-8, 6-3 ACC).
Of course, Irish head coach Link Jarrett played his college ball for Florida State in addition to going to high school in Tallahassee. His parents, wife’s parents and numerous friends still live in the area. It’s both a homecoming and a business trip for a Notre Dame team that has lost four of five games dating back to March 18.
Game 1 of the series will begin at 7 p.m. ET on ACCNX. Left-hander John Michael Bertrand (4-0, 2.19) will take the mound for the Irish, while left-hander Parker Messick (4-1, 2.84) gets the nod for the Seminoles.
