Notre Dame made three new additions to its recruiting office official, including a familiar name: former Irish defensive lineman and captain Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa.

Tagovailoa-Amosa will be the team’s director of recruiting advancement under head coach Marcus Freeman. He had been a graduate assistant at LSU under former Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly.

The Irish also made two more recruiting office hires, which Blue & Gold had previously reported, official. Former Colorado assistant director of player personnel Jourdan Blake is now Notre Dame’s director of player personnel, while former Virginia State director of football operations Ariella Ellis is now the director of on-campus recruiting in South Bend.

The Irish are expected to make one at least more hire to their recruiting office under general manager Mike Martin, sources tell Blue & Gold’s Mike Singer.

Tagovailoa-Amosa played at Notre Dame for five seasons, from 2017-21. He was named a team captain in his last go-round, during which he totaled a career-high 25 tackles, tied a career high with 6 tackles for loss and added 2 sacks — with Freeman as defensive coordinator. In his career, Tagovailoa-Amosa had 79 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 2 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles and 4 fumbles recovered including 1 returned for a touchdown.

He was a veteran presence in a defensive line room that included Howard Cross III, Rylie Mills and Jordan Botelho, who helped the Irish reach the national championship game in 2024.

After his time at Notre Dame came to an end, Tagovailoa-Amosa went undrafted in 2022 and signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent. He was released that August and resigned to the practice squad, but he did not return to the NFL after suffering a season-ending injury that November.

LSU hired Tagovailoa-Amosa as a defensive graduate assistant in July 2024, but his stint in Baton Rouge lasted only one season before he returned to South Bend.

With the hirings of Martin, Blake, Tagovailoa-Amosa and Ellis, Notre Dame has made significant strides in its personnel staff overhaul following the departure of former general manager Chad Bowden to the same job at USC.
