Newsstand: TV network announced for Notre Dame vs. Clemson
Notre Dame vs. Clemson might have taken one step closer to being a night game at Death Valley. Tuesday, ESPN announced that ABC will hold the TV network rights to broadcast that highly-anticipated head-to-head bout, a rematch of the Irish’s 35-14 drubbing of the Tigers in South Bend, Ind., last November.
A kickoff time has not been announced. That’ll largely depend on how both teams are faring leading up to the Nov. 4 game date. But the fact that the game has already been chosen by ESPN’s largest platform makes it seem like there is a high probability of it occurring under the lights.
That probably won’t be the Irish’s only primetime-worthy showdown in 2023, either.
The Irish host Ohio State on Sept. 23 and USC on Oct. 14. NBC has the rights to both of those games since they are Irish home games. Last year, Notre Dame played BYU, Clemson and Stanford in primetime on NBC. The BYU game took place in Las Vegas.

Clemson leads the all-time series vs. the Irish, 4-3. Five of the seven games have taken place in the last decade. The Tigers have a 3-2 edge in that span, but the Irish have taken two of the last three dating back to 2020. This will be the first time the Irish have traveled to Clemson since 2015. The Tigers won that year, 24-22.

“The academics. That’s where my focus has always been. So even growing up, it was always academics first and then football. I had to miss a practice one time because I didn’t finish my homework on time. It’s always been about what my life will be after football.”
