The Associated Press announced its first- and second-team All-Americans on Monday, and Alabama had five total players on both teams. Two teams had four players on the lists, and while you may think it would have been another couple playoff teams, it wasn’t.

Georgia is one of the programs, which does make sense. Despite losing in the SEC Championship game, the one-loss Bulldogs would have made the College Football Playoff most years. They finished the regular season as the No. 6 team in the country.

The other team with four players on the AP All-America Teams? Notre Dame. In fact, of the eight teams that placed three or more players on the two AP All-America teams, only one program has less than 10 regular season wins. And that’s the Fighting Irish. Take that fact however you’d like.

Junior offensive tackle Joe Alt was one of two players named first-team AP All-Americans in both 2022 and 2023, alongside Ohio State junior wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Senior safety Xavier Watts joined Alt on the first team, while junior running back Audric Estimé and graduate defensive tackle Howard Cross III made the third team.
