Blue Wins 76-31 In Modified Scoring Blue-Gold Scrimmage
The University of Notre Dame football team participated in the 2025 Blue-Gold Game on a sunny early spring Saturday afternoon in Notre Dame Stadium. The contest was set up as an offense (Blue) versus defense (Gold) scrimmage over the course of 12 different series featuring all of the available student-athletes from the Fighting Irish roster.
The Blue scored four touchdowns and kicked two field goals while also earning points for first downs and plays over 20 yards. The Gold points were earned from defensive stops, sacks and tackles for loss. Perhaps the highlight of the defensive effort was a goal line stand on the seventh series of the scrimmage. The Blue earned a first-and-goal from the eight yard line, then a second and goal from the two before back-to-back stops at the goal line from junior safety Luke Talich earned the defensive stop.
Freshman CJ Carr threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns and also tossed the lone interception of the game for the Irish quarterbacks. Sophomore Kenny Minchey was six-for-14 for 106 yards and rushed for a score while junior Steve Angeli was an efficient eight-for-11 for 108 yards and a touchdown.
