Several Fighting Irish verbal pledges kicked off their seasons last week, and Blue & Gold is tracking the performances of Notre Dame’s 2023 and 2024 commitments.

Here’s a breakdown of how the future Fighting Irish players fared over the weekend.

OL Sullivan Absher

Paved the way for Belmont (N.C.) South Point (1-0) to run for 301 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-13 victory over Lincolnton (N.C.) High (0-1).

Next game: vs. Mt. Holly (N.C.) East Gaston (1-0) Aug. 26.

LB Drayk Bowen

Totaled 16 tackles (2.0 for loss) and one sack in a 28-7 setback for Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean (0-1) against Merrillville (Ind.) High (1-0). Rushed eight times for 29 yards and caught one pass for nine yards.

Next game: vs. Crown Point (Ind.) High (1-0) Aug. 26.

WR Rico Flores Jr.

Caught seven passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns in a 47-18 win for Folsom (Calif.) High (1-0) versus Elk Grove (Calif.) Monterey Trail.

Next game: vs. San Mateo (Calif.) Serra (0-0) Aug. 26.

S Ben Minich

Posted five tackles in Cincinnati Lakota West’s (1-0) 16-13 victory over Cincinnati St. Xavier (0-1). Hauled in one pass for two yards, which was also the game-winning touchdown.

Next game: at Liberty Township (Ohio) St. Xavier (0-1) Aug. 26.

OL Sam Pendleton

Pfafftown (N.C.) High (1-0) knocked off Lexington (N.C.) North Davidson (0-1) 31-24.

Next game: @ Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley (1-0) Aug. 26.

DL Brenan Vernon

Mentor (Ohio) High (1-0) knocked off Canton (Ohio) McKinley (0-1) 34-21.

Next game: at Cleveland St. Ignatius (0-0) Aug. 26

2024 Notre Dame commit

TE Jack Larsen

Hauled in six receptions for 80 yards in a 41-26 triumph for Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic (1-0) over Charlotte (N.C.) South Mecklenburg (0-1).
