Notre Dame flips in-state safety Brandon Logan from Vanderbilt baseball commitment
Notre Dame has added a commitment from a two-sport athlete who will play football and baseball in South Bend.
Fort Wayne (Ind.) Snider’s Brandon Logan committed to play baseball at Vanderbilt as an outfielder before he played an inning at the high school level. He started picking up interest on the football front with his superb play at the safety position.
The 5-11, 186-pounder added football offers from Indiana and Iowa and picked up interest from Vanderbilt, Ohio State and Texas A&M.
Logan participated in Notre Dame’s Irish Invasion camp June 2 and had a strong day. Per sources, Logan ran two sub 4.5 40-yard dashes, which is very impressive. He announced his scholarship offer from the Irish later that month.
“I went to the camp because my high school coach was pushing for me to, so I said I’d go. I wasn’t expecting much out of it,” Logan previously told Blue & Gold. “I just went there to perform. And I did pretty well and made a good impression on their coaching staff.”
He will come to Notre Dame fully as a two-sport athlete. He’ll play his freshman football season for the Irish in 2025 and then play baseball for Shawn Stiffler’s program in the spring of 2026. He unofficially visited Notre Dame June 20, which put the Irish in the driver’s seat to flip the 6-0, 180-pounder.
Logan announced his pledge to the Irish Aug. 10, a day after decommitting from Vanderbilt.
“They’re (the ND coaches) cool. Coach [Mike] Mickens had a really good presentation for us, and I met with Coach [Marcus] Freeman as well,” Logan said about his late-June visit. “He was really nice, and I liked him.”
Logan will be put on football scholarship when he enrolls at the university.
Per On3’s own rankings, Logan is a three-star recruit, the No. 40 safety in America and No. 9 prospect from the state of Indiana.

According to a tweet from Prep Baseball Indiana, Logan ranks as No. 66 overall player in America and No. 12 outfielder.
The Indiana Football Coaches Association named Logan to its top-50 all-state team, plus the Summit Athletic Conference’s all-conference first-team list.
Logan helped lead Snider to a 13-1 record in 2023 and a Indiana 5A state championship. He posted 95 tackles and 6 interceptions (four which were returned for touchdowns).
He joins a Notre Dame safety class that already includes Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick School’s Ethan Long and Winston-Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor’s JaDon Blair.
Logan is Notre Dame’s 22nd commitment of the class second in-state pledge, joining fellow defensive back Mark Zackery. The Irish currently have the No. 11 class in the country per the 2025 Industry Ranking football Team Recruiting Rankings.
