Newsstand: Where ESPN has Notre Dame in way-too-early bowl projections
The college football season doesn’t start until next week, and it’s a bit absurd to have bowl projections before a single game is played. But it’s still interesting to see what the pundits think could be on the horizon for Notre Dame’s season.
ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach gave their way-too-early bowl projections and have the Fighting Irish playing in a New Year’s Six bowl.
Schlabach has Notre Dame against N.C. State in the Capital One Orange Bowl, while Bonagura’s projection has the Irish in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic facing Cincinnati.
Bonagura and Schlabach agree on the final four and championship game. They have Ohio State knocking off Georgia in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and Alabama taking down Ohio State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
Don’t jot that down, folks. It’s obviously subject to change.
