On Saturday, Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman announced the team’s pregame injury report ahead of Thursday’s College Football Playoff semifinal game against Penn State in the Orange Bowl. According to Freeman, the only injury update from the Georga game was that sophomore tight end Cooper Flanagan has been ruled out for the season due to a foot injury.

The Notre Dame football communications team officially designated Flanagan with a left Achilles injury.

Blue & Gold spotted Flanagan on the sideline during the second quarter of last Thursday’s Sugar Bowl game. He was using crutches and wearing an orthopedic boot on his left foot. He only played three snaps against Georgia.

Besides Flanagan, Freeman said, “It was a pretty clean game in terms of injuries.”

Irish senior Jason Onye remains out with a personal matter and has not been listed on the team’s depth chart. He has not played since Sept. 21 against Miami (Ohio).
