On Monday, the Notre Dame football communications team released its pregame injury report ahead of Saturday’s Week 8 game against Georgia Tech. In addition to Fighting Irish coach Marcus Freeman‘s announcement that junior cornerback Benjamin Morrison is out for the season due to a hip injury, he revealed three other injury updates.

Junior right guard Billy Schrauth (right ankle) and graduate kicker Mitch Jeter (right hip) are officially listed as questionable. Freeman also said sophomore wide receiver Jordan Faison (ankle) would be “available to play.” Faison was listed as probable before last Saturday’s game against Stanford but did not see any snaps.

“He was available to play last week,” Freeman said. “He’s just not 100%. We got to make sure we do everything in our power to help him get to 100%, but he’ll be available.”

Faison initially injured his ankle against Texas A&M on Aug. 31. He played for the first time two weeks later against Miami (Ohio). Then, Faison was helped off the field during the Louisville game and did not return. He has 4 catches for 29 yards on the season.

While an official update was not provided on Notre Dame senior Jason Onye’s status, his availability for the Georgia Tech game is uncertain after he missed the Stanford game due to personal reasons.

Notre Dame Football Injury Report vs. Georgia Tech (Week 8)

Here is a detailed look at the Notre Dame football injury report for Week 8 against Georgia Tech.

— Graduate student kicker Mitch Jeter (right hip) is questionable for the game. After the Stanford game, Freeman said they held Jeter out with a “tight groin” following a 39-yard kickoff. His official injury designation is a right hip injury.

— Freshman safety Tae Johnson (left foot) is out for the game. He sustained a foot injury in his left fifth metatarsal toward the end of preseason camp, which required surgery. Last Monday, Freeman said Johnson is in a “return to participation phase but is still a few weeks away from being able to help our team.”

— Junior offensive lineman Billy Schrauth (right ankle) is questionable for the game. Schrauth was in uniform against Stanford last Saturday for the first time since injuring his ankle against Purdue.
