On Monday, the Notre Dame football communications team released its pregame injury report ahead of Saturday’s Week 8 game against Georgia Tech. Graduate kicker Mitch Jeter (right hip) is the only player listed as questionable, while freshman safety Tae Johnson remains out as he recovers from foot surgery.

Jeter missed last Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech and only had one kickoff on Oct. 12 against Stanford.

“We’ll see if he can give it a go,” coach Marcus Freeman told reporters on Monday. “He tried to warm up, but he didn’t feel like he was able to contribute in a way he needed to. So, he’ll still be questionable.”

For the first time since Sept. 16, junior right guard Billy Schrauth is no longer listed on the injury report. Schrauth injured his right ankle on Sept. 14 against Purdue and has the chance to play Saturday against Navy.

“He will be available but in a role that’s to be determined,” Freeman said. “That’ll be based off this week’s practice. So, I’m not 100% sure what the role will be yet, but he will be available as he returns back to play.

While an official update was not provided on Notre Dame senior Jason Onye’s status, his availability for the Navy game is uncertain after he missed the Stanford and Georgia Tech games due to personal reasons.

Notre Dame Football Injury Report vs. Navy (Week 9)

Here is a detailed look at the Notre Dame football injury report for Week 9 against Navy.

— Graduate student kicker Mitch Jeter (right hip) is questionable for the game. After the Stanford game, Freeman said they held Jeter out with a “tight groin” following a 39-yard kickoff. His official injury designation is a right hip injury.

— Freshman safety Tae Johnson (left foot) is out for the game. He sustained a foot injury in his left fifth metatarsal toward the end of preseason camp, which required surgery. On Oct. 7, Freeman said Johnson is in a “return to participation phase but is still a few weeks away from being able to help our team.”
