On Monday, the Notre Dame football communications team released its pregame injury report ahead of Saturday’s Week 5 tilt against Louisville. One key contributor is out, while another player’s status is uncertain.

Sophomore tight end Cooper Flanagan suffered a left ankle injury in the Miami University game and has been ruled out. He only played four snaps and did not record any stats on Saturday.

Junior defensive lineman Joshua Burnham remains questionable with an ankle injury that he suffered toward the end of the NIU game on Sept. 7. Before his injury, the 6-foot-4, 251-pound Burnham had played most of the snaps at strongside defensive end and logged 4 tackles, including 1 for loss, and 1 quarterback hurry.

Last Monday, Freeman said Burnham was questionable “depending on how he progresses this week.” He was not in uniform against Miami or Purdue.

Besides Burnham and Flanagan, no other weekly injury updates were made available.
