Newsstand: Pair of Notre Dame linebackers crack PFF top 101 players from 2024 season list
Throughout the week, Pro Football Focus (PFF) will be releasing its top 101 players from the 2024 season list, beginning with players ranked No. 101-81 on Monday. The rest of the schedule of the week is the following: Tuesday: 80-61, Wednesday: 60-41, Thursday: 40-11 and Friday: 10-1.
Two Notre Dame players made the initial group on Monday, and both play the linebacker spot.
Sophomore Drayk Bowen checked in at No. 94.
“Bowen emerged as one of the best young linebackers in college football this season,” the PFF team wrote. “His 80.7 overall grade was a top-20 mark in the Power Four this season. He was already an elite tackler as a true sophomore, as he missed just five tackles in his 16 games. Bowen will be one of the top returners at his position in 2025.”
And outgoing sixth-year year ‘backer Jack Kiser made the cut at No. 88.
“The sixth-year captain of Marcus Freeman’s team had a hell of a career in South Bend,” wrote PFF. “You won’t find many tougher football players out there than Kiser, who left it all on the field against Ohio State. Kiser posted his best statistical season in his final year, racking up 75 total tackles and 35 run stops. This earned him an elite 90.5 tackling grade combined with an 86.8 run-defense grade, both ranking in the top 16 among linebackers.”

Quote of the day
“That’s really big for me. You don’t want to go to a place where they don’t want you. I definitely feel like I’m wanted there (at Notre Dame), appreciated there. I’m definitely going to get with my dad to figure out and confirm a date to get down there and see the campus.
