For the first time since the 2013-14 recruiting cycles, Notre Dame signed back-to-back top-10 classes.

The Irish’s group in 2022 ranked No. 6 according to the Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings, while the 2023 class ranked No. 8 per the same metric.

At first glance, one would assume that on paper, the Irish’s 2022 class was better than Notre Dame’s group in 2023. However, the Irish’s class “score” was 92.59 last year while it was 92.65 for the 2023 class.

This is obviously a very small difference, but it does go to show that Notre Dame’s class based on the actual recruit rankings was just as good as 2022.

Quote of the day

“Sam Hartman, the best player in the portal at the quarterback position right now, spoke to some sources this morning and he’s still expected to pick Notre Dame. The timeline on that, I was told, is going to be the end of this week.”
