Notre Dame 2024 commits on a social media splurge ahead of August 1
There’s a lot of excitement this week in the world of Notre Dame football.
On Monday morning, the Fighting Irish football Twitter account tweeted a Jerry Maguire themed video to reveal the green uniforms the team will wear for the Ohio State game Sept. 23. And the day prior, the Irish staff had a big recruiting event mainly geared for the 2025 class that may bear fruit in the near future.
And throughout the day on Monday, there’s been an organized effort from Notre Dame’s 2024 commits to tweet out videos and graphics that were obviously produced by the Irish media team to hype up what will be a big day in Irish recruiting on Tuesday.
In year’s past, Sept. 1 was the first day that college coaches could directly contact rising junior prospects via text message, as well as making phone calls to the recruits. Before that date, the recruits themselves had to initiate the phone call. It may not seem like a big deal, but this certainly makes communication between the two parties easier.
The ever-changing recruiting calendar has, well, changed again, and Aug. 1 is now the first day college coaches can make that contact with the 2025 class. And the Notre Dame commits in 2024 are building hype for the 2025 class.
Saline (Mich.) High quarterback and Notre Dame commit CJ Carr got it started, as you may expected. The video he tweeted out may give you chills. Check it out below.
The point of this media blitz is also for the Irish commits to continue to build their own following as well.
“In this new NIL world, Notre Dame is making it all about the players,” one source close to the program told Blue & Gold regarding the initiative Monday.

For some programs, NIL can be all about pay for play, but Notre Dame wants to help grow the branding of their future players to help the student-athletes in the long run.
