One of Notre Dame’s notable targets in the 2024 class will announce his commitment later this week.

Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International interior defensive lineman Sean Sevillano tweeted Saturday afternoon that he’ll be making his college decision known Friday, June 2 at 12 p.m. ET.

Auburn, Miami, Notre Dame and Ohio State are the finalists for the Canadian-born rising senior prospect.

The Fighting Irish are considered the heavy favorite ahead of his decision according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 91.6 percent.

Sources had told Blue & Gold earlier this month that he’d be officially visiting Ohio State June 2 and Notre Dame June 16. However, it seems Sevillano’s visit dates will likely change considering his impending decision.

Sevillano ranks as the nation’s No. 879 overall prospect and No. 82 defensive lineman according to the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3’s own rankings are slightly higher on Sevillano, listing him as the No. 66 defensive lineman in America. He’s also the No. 87 recruit in Florida per On3, while the Industry Ranking has him as the No. 121 player from the Sunshine State.

Notre Dame defensive line recruiting update

On May 24, Blue & Gold’s Kyle Kelly logged a prediction for Sevillano to end up at Notre Dame, and on that same day, Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School defensive lineman Owen Wafle, who was a longtime Irish pledge, announced his decommitment from ND.

If all goes well for Notre Dame Friday, then the Irish will have quickly replaced Wafle.

The Irish also have defensive line commitments Charlotte (N.C.) Christian EDGE Bryce Young, Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek EDGE Cole Mullins and Katy (Texas) Paetow EDGE Loghan Thomas.

And of course, Notre Dame is still in hot pursuit of Chicago St. Ignatius five-star interior defensive lineman Justin Scott, who announced a top-five schools list of Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, Notre Dame and Michigan last week.

Philadelphia Monsignor Bonner EDGE Mylachi Williams is another key target to keep an eye on.
