Which Notre Dame recruits are playing in the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl?
There’s a couple things new with this year’s most prestigious postseason all-American game. No. 1, it’s been rebranded to the Navy All-American Bowl (it was previously just the All-American Bowl and before that the U.S. Army All-American Bowl up until 2018).
No. 2, high school juniors are now allowed to play in the game. Let’s call a spade a space — the game has lost interest among top senior recruits — thus the extension to juniors — but it’s still a great event.
Around 100 prospects are in San Antonio this week to participate in the all-star event. The week of practice begins on Tuesday morning. The game is set to be played on Saturday, January 11 in the Alamodome and televised on NBC at 1 p.m. ET.
Which Notre Dame recruits are playing in the Navy All-American Bowl?
In my conversations privately with On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power, he’s told me a few times just how fired up he is to get his first in-person evaluation of Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall’s Will Black, a Notre Dame signee who ranks as the No. 26 overall player and No. 6 offensive tackle nationally per the On3 Industry Ranking.
On3’s own ranks list Black as the No. 2 overall prospect and No. 1 tackle in America, making this week crucial for Black to keep that spot — as well as potentially moving past Michigan quarterback signee Bryce Underwood, although that’s unlikely to happen. While Black doesn’t care much about his ranking, he’s excited to compete against top defensive ends all week.

FULL 2025 NAVY ALL-AMERICAN BOWL ROSTER
A pair of Notre Dame class of signees on defense are set to participate in the Navy All-American Bowl in Philadelphia St. Joseph’s Prep School’s Anthony Sacca, the No. 347 prospect and No. 38 linebacker in America, and Chicago Simeon’s Christopher Burgess Jr., who ranks as the No. 111 recruit and No. 11 EDGE in the land — all per the On3 Industry Ranking.
Green Bay (Wis.) Notre Dame De La Baie Academy’s James Flanigan, the No. 117 prospect and No. 6 tight end in the country, is a prospect who most reporters and analysts at the event will be seeing for the first time. He could be in store for a big week.
Lake Mary (Fla.) High’s Noah Grubbs, the No. 156 recruit and No. 12 quarterback in the land per the On3 Industry Ranking, is the lone Notre Dame commit in the 2026 class to take part in the Navy All-American Bowl. With how much analysts at the various websites will get to see Grubbs this week, his ranking will be greatly impacted by how he performs in practices and the game.
