2026 QB Noah Grubbs: 'I'm locked in with Notre Dame'
Reports coming out of the Under Armour Future 50 event last week suggested that Lake Mary (Fla.) High’s Noah Grubbs was still interested in taking trips to other schools despite his Notre Dame commitment, but during a conversation with Blue & Gold Tuesday, the four-star prospect cleared the air.
“I’m not communicating with any other schools,” he stated. “I’m not planning to visit any other schools. I’m locked in with Notre Dame, and I plan to be like that forever.”
Grubbs added that he has two return trips to Notre Dame scheduled. He’ll be in South Bend July 25 for the Irish’s “Grill and Chill” recruiting event. It’s geared towards rising juniors and is more of a laid back, fun visit experience where the prospects will eat and play games with each other and the ND staff.
“I’m excited to be back for the grill and chill to hang out with the coaches, and I’ll be there to recruit people — letting them know how the 2026 class is going to be special in South Bend,” the 6-4.5, 195-pounder added.
Grubbs, who ranks as the No. 119 overall recruit and No. 12 quarterback in America according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, also has travel arrangements for Notre Dame’s privotal home game in November against Florida State, and he added that he’s planning on getting to another couple games as well.
More from Grubbs on Notre Dame
Grubbs announced his commitment to the Irish June 1, and the following day, he was on Notre Dame’s campus to take part in the staff’s Irish Invasion camp. He got to work out with the ND coaches, three quarterbacks who helped out with the camp (CJ Carr, Steve Angeli and Riley Leonard) and an Irish commit in the 2025 class.
“It was good to be back with Deuce [Knight] again,” said Grubbs. “I’ve seen him there like two or three times now. To be around the quarterback room — the people I’ll be around whenever I get there — we got to start the relationship early. To have them coach me up when I was there camping was big.”
“It was an opportunity to work with Coach [Mike] Denbrock and Coach Gino [Guidugli] and meet with Coach [Marcus] Freeman. It was an all-around great day on campus and around the coaches.”
The committed life has treated Grubbs well.
“It’s been everything I expected and more,” he said. “I’m not stressed out about anything. I don’t have to go to as many camps; I’m locked in on me and my high school team. It’s a lot less stressful. I don’t have to call as many coaches as I used to call.”

A part of why Grubbs wanted to commit early in the cycle was to help build a class, and he has his recruiting hat on. He has cast a wide net in terms of contacting 2026 prospects.
“Notre Dame is known for having great offensive linemen, so I’m trying to get some guys who can protect me up front,” he noted.
During his sophomore season in which he helped Lake Mary to a 10-2 record in 2023, Grubbs completed 208 passes on 354 attempts for 3,670 yards with 49 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He added four rushing scores as well.
The Orlando Touchdown Club and the Orlando Sentinel named him its 2023 Offensive Player of the Year.
Grubbs set the following Lake Mary school records in 2023: single-game passing touchdowns (8), single-game passing yardage (528), single-season passing touchdowns (49), single-season passing yards (3,677), most passes completed in a single game (31), single-season completions (207) and attempts (356) and is the school’s all-time leader in average yards per game (306.4).
Grubbs played a good bit as a freshman, throwing for 1,593 yards with 17 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
