Notre Dame has finally started offering quarterbacks in the 2027 class. Gino Guidugli and the Irish staff are making moves, with one of the new scholarships going out to Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb’s Teddy Jarrard on Saturday morning.

The 6-3, 190-pounder emerged for Guidugli and Co. in May when the Irish quarterbacks coach saw Jarrard throw during the spring evaluation period. Jarrard visited Notre Dame a few weeks later, and he loved his June 5 trip to South Bend.

Jarrard, ranked as the No. 176 overall player and No. 13 quarterback nationally according to the On3 Industry Ranking, spoke highly of the visit during an interview with Blue & Gold.

“It went great,” Jarrard said. “Coach Gino was awesome, and of course Coach [Marcus] Freeman was great as well. It’s a neat place with an amazing culture. It was a good visit; I loved it up here. I love what Coach Freeman is building.

“Obviously talking to Coach Freeman was great — that was awesome. Also, I got to talk to counselors on the academic side and had a good lunch. I got to do pretty much everything; it was all really good.

“It’s a tight-knit campus — real walkable and manageable. The student population isn’t too big, which is nice. It feels homey and has a good vibe to it.”

Jarrard added that he had been hoping to receive an offer call from the Irish, and that came true. He has a long, impressive offer list, and Notre Dame becomes a top contender in his recruitment.

“Coach Gino and I have a good relationship, and he likes what I can do as a quarterback,” Jarrard said.

He’s already thrown for 4,712 yards with 49 touchdowns and just 16 interceptions through his first two years of high school. He transferred from North Cobb Christian to North Cobb during the offseason, which will raise the level of competition he faces on Friday nights.

North Carolina, Georgia, Ohio State, Syracuse, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Miami, Wisconsin and Auburn are just a few of the schools that have offered him.

On3’s own rankings are higher on Jarrard than the industry ranking, listing him as the No. 107 overall prospect and No. 7 signal-caller in America.

Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian Academy’s Peyton Houston was the other 2027 quarterback Notre Dame offered on Saturday.
