Another Brady Quinn — Notre Dame interested in namesake 2028 QB

One of the most legendary quarterbacks in Notre Dame history is Brady Quinn, who starred for the Fighting Irish from 2003 to 2006. During his standout career, Quinn set 36 single-season and career records, including marks for career touchdown passes (95), completions (929), and passing yards (11,762).
Now, it’s possible that another Brady Quinn could don the blue and gold later this decade. Naples (Fla.) First Baptist Academy quarterback Brady Quinn, a prospect in the class of 2028, was named after — you guessed it — the iconic Notre Dame signal-caller. There’s no family connection, but the younger Quinn’s father, Steve, is a huge Notre Dame fan and named his son in honor of the former Irish great.
The Irish are interested in the 6-1, 180-pounder and hosted him April 9.
“The trip was great — one of the best visits I’ve had so far,” Quinn told Blue & Gold. “They have a great program, and the facilities and campus are amazing.
“Practice was very competitive, super-fast paced and lots of competition between the offense and defense. I thought it was great, and I love how Coach Gino [Guidugli] coaches.”
Quinn enjoyed connecting with the Fighting Irish staff, including Guidugli and quarterback analyst Kurt Rawlings.

“I spent a lot of time with Coach Gino and Coach Kurt — getting to know them and building my relationship with them,” he said. “I like Coach Gino a lot.”
The rising sophomore holds a handful of scholarship offers already, but it’s going to be a while until he adds Notre Dame to his list — if he’s fortunate enough to have that happen.
“They want to see me throw before anything happens, and they still haven’t offered a 2027 quarterback, so it’s probably going to be a longer recruiting process,” Quinn noted.
Miami, UCF, Syracuse, Missouri and Nebraska are among the schools on Quinn’s scholarship sheet.
Despite just being a freshman, Quinn had a tremendous season in 2024. In 12 games, he completed 176 of 316 passes for 2,549 yards with 33 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He led First Baptist Academy to a couple playoff wins last fall, and in a second-round win against Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Benjamin, he threw for 337 yards with 5 touchdowns on 23 of 33 attempts.
