Speedy WR Bubba Frazier commits to Notre Dame football

Notre Dame has added another name to its 2026 commitment list. The latest verbal pledge comes from Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military School wide receiver Bubba Frazier.
The Peach State speedster announced his commitment to Notre Dame Monday afternoon, just 10 days after his unofficial visit in South Bend. He had a great time on Notre Dame’s campus with his dad, and the Irish moved to the pole position of his recruitment, but Frazier told the ND staff that he wanted to bring his mom up to see the school before making a commitment.
Frazier saw Notre Dame on a Friday, then traveled to Wisconsin the next day, April 5. His original plan wasn’t to commit this soon, but he knew where he wanted to call home.
“After I took my spring visits, I reflected on everything, and Notre Dame came out on top,” Frazier told Blue & Gold before making his commitment public. “I got to the hotel after my Wisconsin visit, and I couldn’t get Notre Dame off my mind. I talked to my family, and they were all good with it. And then I made the call.”
He got on the phone with Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and wide receivers coach Mike Brown the night of Sunday, April 6 to let them know his big news. They were pleasantly surprised to hear about Frazier’s commitment, considering he had just told them that he wanted to bring his mom up before a decision.
“They were excited,” Frazier recalled. “They were yelling on the phone and really fired up about it. They’re ready for me to get up there.”
Notre Dame offered Frazier a scholarship Feb. 21, and Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, UCF and Wisconsin were among the other schools that dished out scholarships to Frazier, but it all clicked for him on the Notre Dame visit. He didn’t need a return trip.
“I got a great vibe with the whole coaching staff,” he said. “When I went into the team meeting room, all the coaches were saying my name and made me feel a part of the program. The spirituality and culture there — it just felt like home.”
Frazier plans to return to Notre Dame in June for his official visit, and it’s the only one he’ll take. The 5-10, 165-pounder has no plans to entertain any other colleges and will enroll at Notre Dame in January 2026.
“I talked that over with Pops, and we said that once I give my word, my word is locked in,” Frazier stated. “So we’re not going to do be doing any of that.”

Frazier is listed as the nation’s No. 69 wide receiver and No. 443 overall player in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking.
He had a standout performance at the Under Armour Next camp series stop in Georgia Feb. 9, which led to him adding new offers from Notre Dame, Wake Forest and North Carolina. Frazier ran a blazing-fast 4.43 laser-timed 40-yard dash at the event. For context, only 16 wide receivers ran better 40 times in the 2025 NFL Combine.
“I’m a humble kid who is going to do whatever he can for his team and teammates,” Frazier said. “I’m going to come in and put my head down and work.”
Frazier was named the Georgia Region 1-AAAA athlete of the year as a junior in 2024. Frazier, who projects as a slot receiver in college, caught 46 passes for 753 yards (16.4 yards per catch) and 5 touchdowns in 12 games last fall.
He has personal best times of 10.69 in the 100 meters and 21.76 in the 200 meters as a sophomore last spring.
Frazier’s sophomore season was strong on the gridiron, hauling in 53 passes for 753 yards with 4 touchdowns, plus 319 yards and 3 scores on the ground.
