Notre Dame Commit Tracker: Elite WR Cam Williams wills his way to massive senior debut

Twelve Notre Dame football recruiting verbal commits in the 2024 and 2025 classes kicked off their respective high school junior and senior football seasons this past week. Meanwhile, another nine were back in action for the season’s second game. Three verbals did not play.

Throughout this high school football season, Blue & Gold will track how Notre Dame’s 2024 and 2025 commits fared each week with a comprehensive report of individual and team performances. 

Here’s how they performed in games from Aug. 24-27.

Taebron Bennie-Powell
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 558 overall player, No. 22 athlete and No. 22 prospect in Ohio. 88.03 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 23 athlete and No. 36 prospect in Ohio. 88 rating. 

In an 18-3 loss to Cincinnati Princeton, Bennie-Powell had four tackles (three solo), two pass breakups and a forced fumble. West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West fell to 0-2 on the season.

QB CJ Carr
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 49 overall player, No. 6 quarterback and No. 1 prospect in Michigan. 94.91 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 192 overall player, No. 14 quarterback and No. 3 prospect in Michigan. 91 rating. 

In his senior season debut, Saline (Mich.) High’s (1-0) Carr completed 20 of 29 passes for 309 yards with 1 interception in a 42-3 victory over Brighton (Mich.) High. Carr completed his first 10 passes for 72 yards. He also had a 5-yard rushing score and three additional carries that registered 31 yards.

WR Micah Gilbert
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 222 overall player, No. 39 wide receiver and No. 6 prospect in North Carolina. 91.03 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 241 overall player, No. 44 wide receiver and No. 7 prospect in North Carolina. 91 rating. 

Gilbert hauled in 7 catches for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns in a Charlotte (N.C.) Christian (2-0) 34-13 win over Fort Mill (S.C.) Catawba Ridge. He also contributed on defense with 4 solo tackles and 1 pass broken up.

CB Karson Hobbs
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 542 overall player, No. 56 cornerback and No. 21 prospect in Ohio. 88.12 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 53 cornerback and No. 23 prospect in Ohio. 88 rating. 

In a blowout 57-0 win against Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Dwenger, Hobbs had 2 tackles. Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller is 1-1 on the year.

LB Bodie Kahoun
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 462 overall player, No. 48 linebacker and No. 7 prospect in Virginia. 88.67 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 47 interior linebacker and No. 11 prospect in Virginia. 89 rating. 

Kahoun had a dominant debut for Roanoke (Va.) Patrick Henry on their way to beating Lynchburg (Va.) Brookville 58-25. Kahoun had 17 tackles, including 12 solo and 2 tackles for loss.

OL Anthonie Knapp
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 349 overall player, No. 26 interior offensive lineman and No. 38 prospect in Georgia. 89.49 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 184 overall player, No. 9 interior offensive lineman and No. 23 prospect in Georgia. 91 rating. 

Knapp and Roswell (Ga.) High (2-0) had the most impressive victory of Notre Dame’s nine commits. They took down Roswell (Ga.) Centennial 71-7 with the help of 212 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries (11.2 yards per carry).

TE Jack Larsen
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 468 overall player, No. 31 tight end and No. 14 prospect in North Carolina. 88.60 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 42 tight end and No. 24 prospect in North Carolina. 88 rating. 

Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic (2-0) steamrolled Northern Durham (N.C.) High, 49-0. Larsen had a 49-yard touchdown catch in the win. He also had two other touchdowns called back due to O-line penalties.

CB Leonard Moore
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 384 overall player, No. 36 cornerback and No. 65 prospect in Texas. 89.24 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 33 cornerback and No. 66 prospect in Texas. 89 rating. 

Round Rock (0-1) High fell to Pflugerville (Texas) Weiss 37-7 in the season opener. Moore did not record any individual statistics in the loss, according to MaxPreps.

Next game: vs. San Antonio Regan (1-0) on Friday at 8 p.m. EDT.


OL Styles Prescod
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 320 overall player, No. 22 interior offensive lineman and No. 4 prospect in Indiana. 89.78 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 179 overall player, No. 8 interior offensive lineman and No. 3 prospect in Indiana. 91 rating. 

Prescod and Fishers (Ind.) Hamilton Southeastern (2-0) defeated Indianapolis North Central 35-7. Prescod and the HSE O-line helped their rushers rack up 179 yards and two touchdowns on 40 carries (4.5 yards per carry).

LB Teddy Rezac
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 754 overall player, No. 34 athlete and No. 6 prospect in Nebraska. 86.98 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 34 athlete and No. 10 prospect in Nebraska. 87 rating. 

Omaha (Neb.) Westside (1-0) blitzed Omaha (Neb.) Creighton Prep 57-7 in the season opener. Rezac had a four-yard catch and three solo tackles in his one half played in the blowout victory.

WR Logan Saldate
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 585 overall player, No. 96 wide receiver and No. 45 prospect in California. 87.88 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 181 wide receiver and No. 81 prospect in California. 86 rating. 

Salinas (Calif.) Palma’s (1-0) Saldate caught 6 passes for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 41-12 win over Soledad (Calif.) High on Thursday night.

DL Sean Sevillano
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 543 overall player, No. 51 defensive lineman and No. 68 prospect in Florida. 88.12 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 64 defensive lineman and No. 82 prospect in Florida. 88 rating. 

Sevillano and Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International (0-1) fell to Miami Columbus 28-21. Sevillano’s stats were unavailable at the time of this posting.

EDGE Loghan Thomas
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 176 overall player, No. 11 EDGE and No. 7 prospect in Ohio. 91.75 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 168 overall player, No. 16 EDGE and No. 7 prospect in Ohio. 92 rating. 

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward achieved an outstanding 28-7 victory over Olney (Md.) Good Counsel on Sunday. Thomas had seven tackles, one of which was solo, a half tackle-for-loss, a pass breakup, two quarterback hurries and two ball disruptions.

Chandler (Ariz.) High rolled to a 56-6 victory over Laveen (Ariz.) Cesar Chavez. Urlacher did not record any individual statistics in the game, per MaxPreps.

LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa

Viliamu-Asa and Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco (2-0) snapped Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas’ 27-game win streak by taking down the Raiders 20-7. Viliamu-Asa’s individual stats were unavailable at the time of this posting.

Hannibal (Mo.) High’s (0-1) Williams rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in a 49-13 loss to Jefferson City (Mo.) Helias Catholic.

Charlotte (N.C.) Christian’s (2-0) Young had nine tackles (three solo), two tackles for loss and two sacks in a 34-13 win against Fort Mill (S.C.) Catawba Ridge. He also had two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a quarterback hurry.

RB Kedren Young
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 175 overall player, No. 13 running back and No. 31 prospect in Texas. 91.78 rating.

Young began his senior season with 149 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in a Lufkin (Texas) High 31-7 win over Tyler (Texas) Legacy.

Notre Dame four-star safety commit Tae Johnson and three-star EDGE pledge Cole Mullins did not play due to lower leg injuries. Four-star offensive lineman commit Peter Jones’ season begins next Friday.

2025 Notre Dame commits

DL Davion Dixon
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 363 overall player, No. 37 defensive lineman and No. 54 prospect in Florida. 88.28 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 35 defensive lineman and No. 44 prospect in Florida. 88.28 rating. 

In a 13-12 win over Homestead (Fla.) High, Dixon had five tackles, including three solo. It was his first game for Miami Palmetto (1-0).

RB Justin Thurman
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 262 overall player, No. 24 running back and No. 39 prospect in Florida. 89.91 rating. 
On3 ranking: No. 27 running back and No. 46 prospect in Florida. 89 rating. 

In his junior season debut, Thurman carried the ball 15 times for 34 yards and had four catches for 24 yards. In Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit’s (1-0) 34-20 win over Tampa (Fla.) Wharton, Thurman also had two kick returns for 25 yards and scored twice on 2-point conversions.
