Commit Tracker: Notre Dame CB commit Mark Zackery has major offensive impact in Week 11

A slow start to the 2024 season for Indianapolis Ben Davis has not slowed down Notre Dame commit Mark Zackery. The four-star cornerback shined again Friday night, scoring two touchdowns and picking off two passes to lead the Giants to a first-round playoff victory.

Each week during this high school football season, Blue & Gold reports on how each Notre Dame Fighting Irish commit and their teams perform. In addition to Zackery, seven pledges played in postseason games in Week 11.

Here is how the 22 Notre Dame commits that competed from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 in Week 11 fared.

Four-star OT Matty Augustine

In Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick School’s (7-1) 49-15 win against Pawling (N.Y.) Trinity-Pawling (1-6), Augustine and the Bruins O-line helped the offense anchor five straight scoring drives and 243 yards in the first half.

Three-star WR Jerome Bettis Jr. 

Had 2 catches for 31 yards and 2 tackles in the first half in College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy‘s (7-3) 50-0 victory against Atlanta (Ga.) Lakeside (4-6).

Next game: vs. Lovejoy (Ga.) High (4-5) Nov. 15.

Season stats: 10 games | 23 receptions, 497 yards, 5 TD | 38 tackles (29 solo), 1 TFL, 1 pass breakup, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles.

Four-star OT Will Black

Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall (7-0) defeated Avon (Conn.) Avon Old Farms (5-3) 40-7, highlighted by Black’s 49-yard touchdown catch.

Four-star S JaDon Blair

Notched a tackle in Winston-Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor‘s (8-2) 42-14 victory over Winston-Salem (N.C.) Parkland (3-7).

Season stats: 9 games | 57 tackles (53 solo), 1 TFL, 3 pass breakups, 1 caused fumble, 2 interceptions; 18 catches, 391 yards, 6 touchdowns; 4 carries, 26 yards; 4 punt returns, 21 yards.

Four-star EDGE Christopher Burgess Jr.

Made 10 tackles (5 solo) in Chicago Simeon‘s (7-3) 15-20 loss to Normal (Ill.) Normal West (8-2) in the first round of the IHSA Class 6A playoffs.

Season stats: 10 games | 96 tackles (49 solo), 8 TFLs, 5 sacks, 8 quarterback hurries, 1 pass breakup, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery.

Three-star WR Elijah Burress

Caught 2 passes for 84 yards and 1 touchdown in Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic‘s (8-1) 28-21 victory over Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph Regional (5-4). Also had 2 solo tackles.

Seasons stats: 9 games | 28 receptions, 768 yards, 12 touchdowns; 2 solo tackles.

Three-star DL Davion Dixon

Had 10 tackles (6 solo), including 2 for loss and 1 sack in Miami Palmetto‘s (6-3) 19-14 loss to Fort Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot (6-3).

Next game: at Miami Booker T. Washington (6-2) Nov. 7.

Season stats: 9.5 games | 65 tackles (41 solo), 21 TFLs, 9.5 sacks, 6 QB pressures, 1 pass breakup, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery.

Three-star WR Dylan Faison (Notre Dame 2026 commit)

Finished with 6 catches for 77 yards in Boca Raton (Fla.) Saint Andrew’s (5-5) 46-7 loss to Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Benjamin (3-5).

Four-star TE James Flanigan

Posted 2 catches for 31 yards and 9 tackles, 3 for loss and 2 sacks in Green Bay (Wis.) Notre Dame de la Baie’s (11-0) 35-13 win against Port Washington (Wis.) High (8-3) in the second round of the Division 3 WIAA State Tournament.

Next game: at Grafton (Wis.) High (11-1) in the quarterfinal round of the Division 3 WIAA State Tournament Nov. 8.

Four-star DB Dallas Golden

Grasped 14 hand-offs for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns and a 19-yard touchdown catch in Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep‘s (4-4) 42-21 win over Tampa (Fla.) Alonso (4-4).

Season stats: 8 games | 2 tackles, 1 pass breakup; 25 receptions, 357 yards, 3 TD; 100 rushes, 710 yards, 5 TD; 9 kick returns, 187 yards; 4 punt returns, 80 yards.

Four-star QB Noah Grubbs (Notre Dame 2026 commit)

Connected on 18-34 of his passes for 243 yards and 1 touchdown to help Lake Mary (Fla.) High (8-2) beat Orlando (Fla.) Bishop Moore (8-2) 34-16. Also had 2 rushing touchdowns.

Three-star QB Blake Hebert

Completed 10-11 passes for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns in Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick School‘s (7-1) 49-15 win over Pawling (N.Y.) Trinity-Pawling (1-6).

Herron and the Warriors’ offensive line helped its rushers record 290 yards and 3 touchdowns on 32 carries (9.1 yards per carry) in Indianapolis Warren Central‘s (9-1) 39-0 victory against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical (4-5-1) in the sectional semifinals of the Class 6A IHSAA State Tournament.

Four-star EDGE Dominik Hulak

Chicago IC Catholic Prep‘s season has concluded. The Knights finished 4-5 and did not qualify for the playoffs.
