Commit Tracker: Notre Dame legacy recruit has 3 touchdowns again in Week 9

Notre Dame football lacrosse and football commit Dylan Faison shined again. This time, the two-sport star had a hat trick and over 140 yards receiving on the gridiron for a second straight week.

Each week during this high school football season, Blue & Gold will report on how each Notre Dame Fighting Irish commit and their teams perform during the 2024 football season. This week, there were two new additions to the list.

Here is how 23 Notre Dame commits competed from Oct. 17-19 in Week 9 fared.

Four-star OT Matty Augustine

Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick School (6-0) beat Andover (Mass.) Phillips Academy (0-5) 42-7. Augustine and the Bruins O-line helped pave the way for their rushers to register 207 yards on the ground.

Three-star WR Jerome Bettis Jr. 

College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy (5-3) had a bye week.

Next game: at Decatur (Ga.) High (8-0) Oct. 25.

Season stats: 8 games | 19 receptions, 377 yards, 5 TD | 33 tackles (27 solo), 1 TFL, 1 pass breakup, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles.

Four-star OT Will Black

Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall (5-0) defeated Lakeville (Conn.) Hotchkiss School (1-4) 44-0. Black and the Wild Boars O-line helped its rushers record 187 yards.

Four-star S JaDon Blair

Posted 6 solo tackles and a pass breakup in Winston-Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor‘s (6-2) 51-6 victory against Kernersville (N.C.) Glenn (2-6). Also had 2 catches for 74 yards and 1 touchdown, a 7-yard carry and a 10-yard punt return.

Next game: vs. Pfafftown (N.C.) Reagan (5-3) Oct. 25.

Season stats: 7 games | 47 tackles (43 solo), 1 TFL, 3 pass breakups, 1 caused fumble, 1 interception; 17 catches, 376 yards, 5 touchdowns; 3 carries, 15 yards; 4 punt returns, 21 yards.

Four-star EDGE Christopher Burgess Jr.

Collected 5 tackles (3 solo), including 1 for loss, 1 sack and 1 quarterback hurry in Chicago Simeon‘s (7-1) 36-13 victory over Chicago Johnson (2-5).

Season stats: 8 games | 78 tackles (41 solo), 7 TFLs, 4 sacks, 8 quarterback hurries, 1 pass breakup, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery.

Three-star WR Elijah Burress

Brought in 2 passes for 24 yards and 2 touchdowns in Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic‘s (7-0) win at Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter’s Prep (3-7).

Next game: vs. Morristown (N.J.) Delbarton (5-2) Oct. 25.

Three-star DL Davion Dixon

Dominated with 10 tackles (8 solo), including 2 for loss, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 batted down pass and 1 quarterback pressure in Miami Palmetto‘s (5-2) 41-24 victory against Miami Edison (4-4).

Next game: vs. Miami Stingarees (3-5) Oct. 25.

Season stats: 7.5 games | 52 tackles (33 solo), 18 TFLs, 7.5 sacks, 5 QB pressures, 1 pass breakup, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery.

Three-star WR Dylan Faison (Notre Dame 2026 commit)

Had 140 yards and 3 touchdowns on 11 catches in Boca Raton (Fla.) Saint Andrew’s (4-4) 32-21 loss to Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Calvary Christian (7-2). Also had a blocked field goal and 15-yard kick return.

Next game: at Boynton Beach (Fla.) Somerset Academy – Canyons Cougars (3-4) Oct. 25.

Season stats: 7 games | 35 receptions, 510 yards, 7 touchdowns; 28 rushes, 89 yards, 2 touchdowns; 7 punt returns, 166 yards, 1 TD, 5 kick returns, 86 yards; Completed 1-5 passes, 8 yards; 10 tackles (4 solo), 1 interception, 1 blocked field goal.

Four-star TE James Flanigan

Finished with 2 catches for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns and had 2 tackles, including 1 for loss in Green Bay (Wis.) Notre Dame de la Baie’s (9-0) 41-7 win against Oshkosh (Wis.) Oshkosh North (7-3).

Notre Dame’s Next game: vs. Pewaukee (Wis.) High (4-5) in the first round of the Division 3 WIAA State Tournament Oct. 25.

Season stats: 8 games | 15 receptions, 358 yards, 8 touchdowns; 29 tackles (16 solo), 8 TFLs, 8 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery.

Four-star DB Dallas Golden

Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep (3-4) had a 31-21 loss to Tampa (Fla.) Plant (4-3). Golden’s stats were not available at this posting time.

Season stats: 6 games | 2 tackles, 1 pass breakup; 21 receptions, 317 yards, 2 TD; 64 rushes, 478 yards, 2 TD; 6 kick returns, 102 yards.

Four-star QB Noah Grubbs (Notre Dame 2026 commit)

Connected on 13-23 passes for 179 yards and 3 touchdowns to help Lake Mary (Fla.) High (5-2) beat Orlando (Fla.) Evans (5-3).

Next game: vs. Altamonte Springs (Fla.) Lake Brantley (3-6) Oct. 25.

Season stats (unofficial): 8 games | 120-198, 1,644 yards, 21 TD, 6 INT; 5 carries, 32 yards, 1 touchdown.

Three-star QB Blake Hebert

Completed 7-15 passes for 121 yards and 1 touchdown to give Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick School (6-0) a 42-7 win over Andover (Mass.) Phillips Academy (0-5). Also had 78 rushing yards and 2 scores.

Three-star OL Cameron Herron

In Indianapolis Warren Central’s (8-1) 34-28 victory against Indianapolis Cathedral (5-3), Herron and the Warriors O-line helped their rushers rack up 52 yards and 4 touchdowns on 32 carries (1.6 yards per carry). They surrendered 5 tackles for loss and 1 sack.

Next game: at Indianapolis Arsenal Technical (4-4-1) in the sectional semifinals of the Class 6A IHSAA State Tournament Nov. 1.

Four-star EDGE Dominik Hulak

Had 2 solo tackles, 2 sacks, 1 quarterback hurry and 1 forced fumble in Chicago IC Catholic Prep‘s (3-4) 48-28 victory over Arlington Heights (Ill.) Saint Viator (3-5). Also had a 17-yard catch and 13-yard run.

Notched a team-high 6 tackles, including for 1 loss, in Fort Wayne (Ind.) Snider’s (7-2) 21-8 win against Fort Wayne (Ind.) Wayne (3-5). Also had a 4-yard catch.
