2025 RB Daniel Anderson commits to Notre Dame football
Bryant (Ark.) High class of 2025 running back Daniel Anderson has announced his commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The Notre Dame staff invited Anderson to participate in their Irish Invasion camp in early May, and at that point, he held zero scholarship offers. He earned an offer from the Irish after showing out at their camp the following month, and the likes of Arkansas State, Colorado, Mississippi State and Tennessee offered him in the ensuing weeks.
Anderson was on campus over the weekend for the Ohio State game and gave the Notre Dame coaches some indication before the trip that a commitment would take place. He announced his decision to pick the Irish a little over an hour before kickoff.
His relationship with the Notre Dame coaches were important to him committing to the Irish.
“From my first meeting with Coach [Marcus] Freeman, he immediately made me feel like he genuinely cares about kids as players and beyond and he has not given me any reason to think differently to this day,” Anderson said to On3’s Sam Spiegelman before making his decision public.
“Coach [Deland] McCullough has life experiences on the field and off the field that make him relatable. Knowing he has a background in education and he played in the league helps with establishing a good relationship.”
Anderson ranks as the nation’s No. 417 overall player and No. 38 running back according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 4 player from the state of Arkansas.
During his sophomore season, Anderson totaled 74 carries for 856 yards and 11 touchdowns in Bryant’s undefeated, state-title winning season. And through four games of his junior season, he has 27 carries for 136 yards and a score.

“If I learn the plays and ‘make the grades’ in practices, I’ll get to play,” he continued. “With the class of backs going in, it will be perfect timing for me to come in for 2025. My parents and I feel the coaching staff is a good fit because of what I’m used to here in Bryant.”
Anderson is Notre Dame’s second running back commit of the 2025 class, joining Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit’s Justin Thurman. The Irish are up to four verbals in the cycle with Anderson’s pledge. The headliner of the class thus far is Lucedale (Miss.) George County quarterback Deuce Knight, a top-40 overall player in 2025.
Continuing to rave about the Notre Dame staff, Anderson told Spiegelman the following: “The connections with them have been on a more personal level. They have been talking the program up, about the upcoming recruiting classes and where I would fit.”
The 5-11, 190-pounder reports that he’s been clocked at 4.40 in the 40-yard dash and a 4.0 grade-point average.
