On3 director of scouting names Notre Dame QB commit Deuce Knight most athletic 2025 recruit
Once again, Deuce Knight has found favor in the eyes of On3’s director of scouting and rankings, Charles Power. On Monday, Power named the four-star Notre Dame quarterback commit the top athletic football recruit in the 2025 class.
Knight was one of three Fighting Irish pledges to make Power’s list, who he said should be contenders to make The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman’s future “freaks list.” Tight end James Flanigan and offensive tackle Will Black also cracked Power’s top 10.
Power’s nod to Lucedale (Miss.) George County’s Knight being a “future freak” comes after he also named him the MVP of the OT7 7-on-7 Finals and Elite 11 Finals last month. While Knight excelled in both football events this offseason, his other competitive endeavors, according to Power, ultimately make him the top athlete in the 2025 football recruiting class.
“Knight would register as a top-tier NFL athlete right now,” Power said. The Lucedale (Miss.) George County product is an elite athlete in the combine setting. He is a three-time state champion in track and field and is an above-the-rim basketball player. The athleticism makes him one of the higher-upside prospects in the 2025 cycle.”
In Power’s report, he noted the 6-foot-4½, 208-pound Knight ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash and registered an over 40-inch vertical at the Elite 11 regional event. Knight also notched impressive marks in the broad jump (10 feet, 8½ inches), high jump (6 feet, 8 inches) and long jump (23 feet, 6 inches). He can also complete a windmill dunk on the hardwood.
Knight’s 40-yard dash would have been the fastest among NFL quarterbacks at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine and tied for 12th among 22 running backs.

At the On3 Elite Series in Nashville, Power also verified that Knight has 33.875-inch arms and a 9.75-inch hand. Knight’s hand size is the same as that of Sam Hartman and Caleb Williams. That ranked tied for seventh at the most recent NFL Combine.
Where On3 ranks Notre Dame QB commit Deuce Knight
Power ranks Knight as the 2025 class’s No. 28 overall player, No. 4 quarterback nationally and No. 2 Mississippi prospect. He has Knight slotted higher than the other three primary recruiting media services.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from each service, Knight is the No. 38 player, No. 7 quarterback in the country and No. 3 recruit in Mississippi.
