Newsstand: Notre Dame 2024 EDGE Loghan Thomas transfers high schools
Notre Dame 2024 EDGE commit Loghan Thomas has returned to his Ohio roots for his high school senior season. The four-star EDGE rusher will conclude his high school career by playing for Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder transferred from Katy (Texas) Paetow, where he had 31 tackles (15 solo), four tackles for loss and a sack as a junior. Irish defensive line coach Al Washington offered him a scholarship on Jan. 10, three days after he claimed All-American Bowl Combine MVP.
Thomas is originally from Ohio.
He eventually unofficially visited Notre Dame for three days on the weekend of March 24. He returned to campus on May 19 before eventually verbally committing to the Fighting Irish on May 24.
The On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — considers Thomas the No. 173 overall player and No. 10 EDGE. He has a 91.75 rating.
In On3’s own rankings, he’s the No. 168 prospect and No. 16 at his position. Thomas’ On3 rating is 92. His On3 NIL Valuation annual value is $84,000. That ranks No. 285 among high school football prospects.
Thomas teams up with Ohio State offensive line commits Devontae and Deontae Armstrong, Michigan O-line commit Ben Roebuck and Northwestern D-line commit Troy Regovich at St. Ed’s. Thomas reports 16 Power Five scholarship offers but none from those schools.
