On3 is making its final rankings adjustment for the 2024 class Monday, and Notre Dame offensive tackle signee Guerby Lambert got bumped up to being listed as a five-star player.

Lambert now ranks as the nation’s No. 18 overall prospect. The top 32 players earn five-star status in On3’s rankings.

The 6-6, 290-pounder is the No. 2 offensive tackle in all of the country. Dillon (S.C.) High’s Josiah Thompson, a South Carolina signee, got the move up to become the top offensive tackle in the land. Heading into the ranking, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy’s Jordan Seaton, a Colorado signee, was ranked as offensive tackle No. 1.

Lambert was the No. 4 tackle in the land prior to Monday. Despite not playing in the All-American Bowl due to injury-relayed reasons, the future Irish blocker still moved up a couple spots in the positional rankings. He went up from No. 22 to No. 18 in On3’s national rankings.

On3 is the only website to rank Lambert as a five-star prospect. The next highest-ranking for Lambert is at Rivals, which lists him as the No. 37 player and No. 3 offensive tackle in the nation.

Notre Dame has signed five-star offensive linemen per On3 in three straight cycles (2022 Aamil Wagner, 2023 Charles Jagusah).

More details on Lambert

Notre Dame offered Lambert back in March 2022 for Pot of Gold Day, and it was clear that the Irish were going to be a big competitor in his recruitment. But outside of trips to see the local Boston College Eagles, Lambert never visited any colleges until the summer before his senior year.

The 6-6, 290-pounder took officials to Notre Dame, Boston College, Ohio State and Harvard — in that order — and despite the Irish getting the first visit (which can sometimes be a bad thing as the visit “high” wears off), Freeman and Co. eventually won out for the elite prospect.

“The opportunities for life after football there are endless,” Lambert said to On3’s Hayes Fawcett about picking the Irish. “They have an amazing coach staff, a great engineering program (which is the major I want to get into), and overall faith. I prayed over this decision every day and I feel that God is telling me Notre Dame.”

Lambert is from the same school that produced Notre Dame rising sophomore Boubacar Traore.

Lambert’s On3 scouting report

Toolsy offensive tackle with a high-end combination of size and movement skills. Measured at around 6-foot-6, 290 pounds with a 34-inch arm prior to his senior season. Has worked primarily as a right tackle while playing for one of the better high school programs in Massachusetts. Plays with outstanding bend and flexibility. Has a flat back in his stance and drives off the ball low to create a leverage advantage against smaller defensive linemen. Uses his long arms to control defenders at the point of attack. Shows encouraging reactive quickness in his pass set. Has added functional play strength over the past year, but can continue improving in that regard. Will need to hone his pass blocking technique, but has the movement skills and physical dimensions to be a strong pass protector with coaching and development. Also participates in track with solid throws in the shot put, marked by a personal best toss of 45-9 feet.
