OL Sullivan Absher

Belmont (N.C.) South Point (12-1) vs. Gibsonville (N.C.) Eastern Guilford (9-4) in the quarterfinals of the North Carolina Class 3A state playoffs Nov. 25.

Notes: Absher’s squad has been a dominant force on the ground this fall and posted 74 points in their second round playoff game. Look for more of the same for Absher, who has seen his ranking stock improve with his play this year.

LB Jaiden Ausberry

Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab (8-3) vs. New Orleans Newman (8-2) in the quarterfinals of the Louisiana Division II state playoffs Nov. 25.

Notes: Ausberry has also been outstanding this fall, as he’s totaled 105 tackles through 11 games. His team is looking to defend its state title and battles the No. 1 overall player in the 2023 class — quarterback Arch Manning. The Ausberry vs. Manning showdown will be electric.

LB Drayk Bowen

Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean (10-3) vs. Evansville (Ind.) Mater Dei (11-3) in the championship game of the Indiana Class 2A state playoffs Nov. 25.

Notes: Andrean vs. Mater Dei is a rematch of the Indiana 2A title game from last year, a matchup that Bowen led Andrean to victory. It’ll be a tall task to do it again on Friday, but it’s one that I believe Andrean will win.

Peyton Bowen

Denton (Texas) Guyer (12-0) vs. Trophy Club (Texas) Byron Nelson (11-1) in the third round of the Texas 6A Division II state playoffs Nov. 26.

Notes: Guyer is the No. 12 team nationally per MaxPreps for good reason. Byron Nelson is a very good team, but Bowen’s squad should roll.

WR Rico Flores Jr.

Folsom (Calif.) High (11-1) vs. El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge (10-2) in the championship game of the California Interscholastic Federation Sac-Joaquin Section Division I state playoffs Nov. 25.

Notes: Flores’ senior season has been dominant; he’s posted 72 receptions for 1,081 yards and 8 touchdowns. Folsom blew out Oak Ridge earlier this season.

WR Jaden Greathouse

Austin (Texas) Westlake (12-0) vs. San Benito (Texas) High (11-1) in the third round of the Texas 6A Division I state playoffs Nov. 25.

Notes: Greathouse’s team has lost once during his four-year high school career. Loss No. 2 won’t happen on Friday night.

RB Jayden Limar

Lake Stevens (Wash.) High (10-2) vs. Graham (Wash.) Graham-Kapowsin (10-2) in the semifinals of the Washington Class 4A state playoffs Nov. 26.

Notes: Limar has been breaking all sorts of school records, with the latest being breaking the career record for rushing touchdowns at 60.

RB Jeremiyah Love

St. Louis Christian Brothers (12-1) vs. Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North (12-1) in the championship game of the Missouri Class 6 state playoffs Nov. 26.

Notes: The lone loss for Christian Brothers this season came against a team from a bigger classification. Their results have mostly been blowouts this season. Their state title game draws a tough opponent. Love has ran for 1,080 yards and has totaled 22 touchdowns.

CB Karson Hobbs

Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller (13-1) vs. Springfield (Ohio) High (12-1) in the Ohio Division I state finals Nov. 25.

Notes: Hobbs and his team have been outstanding this fall and broke into MaxPreps’ national top 25 at No. 24 this week.
