Detroit Martin Luther King class of 2023 quarterback Dante Moore will visit Notre Dame on Monday, a source told On3’s Chad Simmons.

This is news that should send Notre Dame fans into a frenzy. The five-star quarterback is inarguably the most important prospect for the Irish in the class, and March 28 will be his first trip to South Bend since October 2. It will be his fourth trip to Notre Dame in total, with the first two occurring last summer.

It’s also major news because it could be Moore’s last trip to South Bend before making a decision on a college. Simmons recently reported that Moore’s recruitment “could be over sooner than later.” A mid-spring commitment date is certainly not off the table, but he could stretch his recruitment into the summer and take official visits. Either way, Moore is expected to commit to a program before the start of his senior season.

Moore ranks as the nation’s No. 15 overall prospect and No. 4 quarterback per the 2023 On3 Consensus. He’s also the top player from Michigan.

Notre Dame the RPM leader for Moore

There’s been plenty of movement according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in terms of where Moore is leaning. After Blue & Gold logged a prediction for Moore to choose Notre Dame back in mid-February, the Irish became the RPM favorite at 73.1 percent.

With Moore taking visits to some other schools in the past few weeks, the RPM has shifted, but Notre Dame is still running in the lead at 58.7 percent. Michigan sits in second place at 16.0 percent and LSU in third at 11.7 percent.

While having a lead percentage in an algorithm is nice, closing on Moore is the ultimate goal. And the Irish staff — led by head coach Marcus Freeman and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees — is hoping to be able to do that in the coming weeks.

“I am talking a lot more with Coach Freeman, and I have always talked a lot with coach Tommy Rees,” Moore recently told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Me and Coach Rees talk ball, life, and we have had a strong bond for over a year. Now, me and Coach Freeman are chatting it up more, and I think he can do a great job.”

If Moore does choose Notre Dame, he will be the highest ranked quarterback prospect to pick Notre Dame since Dayne Crist (No. 13 nationally) back in the 2008 recruiting class.

Moore has an NIL Valuation of $46,000, which ranks No. 62 in the high school football NIL rankings. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
