Pot of Gold Day: Notre Dame football offers elite football, basketball recruit Kendre Harrison
The Notre Dame football program just gave a scholarship to one of the best dual-sport athletes in the 2026 cycle. On Sunday, four-star “athlete” Kendre Harrison from Reidsville (N.C.) High reported an offer from the Fighting Irish during their Pot of Gold Day recruiting event.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Harrison is an elite football and basketball prospect. As a football player, he already reports 25 “Core Four” (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC) offers. He also holds basketball offers from Georgetown, Penn State, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — Harrison is the No. 9 overall player, No. 1 “athlete” nationally and No. 1 prospect in North Carolina in the 2025 football recruiting cycle.
In the On3 Industry basketball rankings, he’s the No. 33 player, No. 3 power forward and No. 2 recruit in North Carolina.
Harrison was offered a tight end by the Notre Dame football program. He has not announced a scholarship offer from Micah Shrewsberry and the Fighting Irish men’s basketball program.
As a freshman at Reidsville High, Harrison proved immediately he had the potential to be a high-caliber football prospect. Then, he flourished as a sophomore and led his school to a state championship campaign. He was dominant on offense and defense.
