Notre Dame extends offer to Mississippi quarterback Deuce Knight
Lucedale (Miss.) George County class of 2025 quarterback Deuce Knight got his “Pot of Gold” on Friday.
Today marks the third annual Pot of Gold recruiting day, which is the Notre Dame staff’s big initiative that falls each year on St. Patrick’s Day. The staff will send out several dozen offers in the high school sophomore class, and for this year, it’s the 2025 recruiting cycle.
And Knight received his offer from Irish quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli and the Notre Dame staff.
Knight is not a completely new name for Notre Dame fans to be familiar with, Blue & Gold reported Feb. 10 that he had scheduled to visit South Bend April 1. The 6-3, 170-pounder also informed us that he’ll be visiting Tennessee March 23 and Texas A&M April 6.
In a previous article, Knight noted that he’s been in contact with Notre Dame director of recruiting Chad Bowden, as well as tight ends Gerad Parker, who had yet to be hired as the Irish’s new offensive coordinator at that time.
“They want to start building a relationship with me and said we need to talk at least once every week,” Knight told Blue & Gold.

Knight’s offer list also consists of Ole Miss, Tennessee, Southern Miss, Auburn, Indiana, Mississippi State, Tulsa, Washington, Southern Miss, USF, Texas A&M and Memphis. Ole Miss and Tennessee are the top two schools for Knight, respectively, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
While Knight is seeing his recruitment just starting to take off, he’s expected to see his process blow up soon.
Knight, who also plays basketball for George County, reports a 4.0 grade-point average.
During his sophomore football season, Knight completed 121 of 196 passes for 1,929 yards with 11 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He also added 488 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 58 carries.
Knight is currently unranked according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking.
“Deuce Knight, a 6-foot-3, 175-pounder out of Lucedale (Miss.) George Country has a big frame and enormous playmaking ability,” On3’s Sam Spiegelman wrote last year. “The southpaw was accurate in spite of rough mechanics and already holds a Big Ten offer. He’s going to attract many more.
