Checking in with Notre Dame QB commit Noah Grubbs: WR recruiting, personal improvements, more

Blue & Gold made it down to Tampa, Fla. to see Lake Mary (Fla.) High’s Noah Grubbs, a Notre Dame commit who ranks as the No. 198 overall player and No. 14 quarterback in America according to the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, at an Elite 11 regional camp.
While Grubbs didn’t receive an invite to the Elite 11 Finals in Southern California following the event, it’s still very possible (and some may say likely) that he gets that invite in due time.
Blue & Gold spoke with Grubbs after his strong performance to discuss a handful of topics. See the Q&A exchange below.
How do you feel like you competed today?
“I feel like I did great. It was one of my best throwing days. I felt like I threw on the run really well. I just have to keep my head down and keep working.”
What are the biggest improvements in your game going from junior to senior year?
“I feel like I’ve gotten stronger, and this is the best I’ve ever felt. I’m more elusive, can escape and make plays out of nothing. I’m continuing to improve my deep ball, and learning more about defenses is always something a quarterback can get better with.”

How’s everything been with Notre Dame?
“I love it. I’m keeping in close contact with the staff, and I’m all in on Notre Dame.”
Are you pretty pumped about how this class is coming together? You have to be excited about Notre Dame offering your teammate, Brian Williams.
“There’s a bunch of guys we’re on right now — Kaydon Finley, Joey O’Brien, Brayden Robinson, Rodney Dunham, Javian Osborne — there’s a bunch. I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot of guys. And I am always talking to Brian about Notre Dame. Whenever he visits a school, he talks to me about it and I’ll ask him questions. I always tell him where he’s going to end up, and it’s going to be in South Bend. I told him that when you get to Notre Dame, you realize fast if it’s for you or not.
“I’m looking forward to showing Brian around (this week during their ND visit). If he goes there, I’ll be the one throwing the ball to him, so I hope that’s a big factor for him. We need him.”
How are you feeling in general about receiver recruiting for Notre Dame right now?
“I feel great. There’s a couple predictions out there, like Kaydon and Brayden. I feel great with the position we’re in. Some of the guys are close; we just need one domino to fall. And then there will be many more.”
So you’re visiting Tuesday and then you’ll be there for a while in June. You pretty pumped about being up there for several days and spending all that time working with Coach Guidugli?
“I’ll be going from my family in Orlando to my family in South Bend. I can’t wait to spend more time with them. And I’ll probably be there for both official visit weekends.”
