Where Notre Dame commits land in On3 Industry Ranking after latest updates

Both On3 and Rivals updated their class of 2025 rankings this week, which included notable changes for Notre Dame commits, especially Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary’s Will Black.

As of last week, Black ranked as the No. 37 overall player and No. 6 offensive tackle in America according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking.

The On3 Industry Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four major recruiting media services. It is the most advanced, complete and unbiased rating and ranking measurement in the industry.

After Rivals moved Black from being ranked as the No. 50 player to No. 19 overall (including five-star status), Black’s Industry Ranking changed to being the No. 26 overall recruit in the land. He’s now a five-star player per the Industry Ranking as well.

On3’s own rankings have listed Black as the No. 2 player and No. 1 offensive tackle in America for several months. 247 Sports and ESPN view Black as the No. 70 and No. 98 overall player in the country, respectively.

“Notre Dame offensive tackle Will Black remains at No. 2 in the On300 and continues to look like the top prospect in what is the deepest offensive line cycle in recent memory,” On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power wrote Monday. “Black has elite movement skills at 6-foot-7.5, 285 pounds and is playing at a very high level as a senior.”

Other than Black, Notre Dame doesn’t have any top-100 players per the On3 Industry Ranking.

It does, however, have several players knocking on the door in EDGE Christopher Burgess Jr. (No. 110), cornerback Dallas Golden (No. 112), tight end James Flanigan (No. 117), safety JaDon Blair (No. 125) and cornerback Mark Zackery (No. 154).

There were a few notable moves up in the On3 Industry Ranking this week, including quarterback Blake Hebert out of Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick School. He moved up from No. 411 to No. 359 nationally, which was good enough for him to move to four-star status per the metric.

Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic running back Nolan James Jr. was Notre Dame’s lowest ranked commit in the 2025 class last week, but that’s no longer the case as he moved from No. 988 to No. 596 in the national rankings.

Fort Wayne (Ind.) Snider safety Brandon Logan had a nice jump to No. 742 to No. 673 in the national rankings. This was due to On3 bumping him to four-star status. He’s now the No. 31 safety in America per On3.
