Confirmed: Elite running back set for Notre Dame unofficial visit
St. Louis Christian Brothers class of 2023 running back Jeremiyah Love will unofficially visit Notre Dame this weekend, multiple sources tell Blue & Gold.
It’s an important visit for both parties. Love is inching closer to making a college decision, and the Fighting Irish badly want to secure the talents of the four-star playmaker.
In June, Love took official visits to Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame and Texas A&M, but his mother was not able to make the trip to South Bend. It’s good news for the Irish that she’s visiting this Saturday when Notre Dame hosts Marshall for its home opener.
“Overall, the visit was great,” Love told Blue & Gold about his June official visit. “I had a great time with the coaching staff and some players as well. The highlight of the visit was getting to sit down with Coach [Deland] McCullough, learning about the game of football and how to read certain runs.
“I spent most of my time [during the visit] with Coach McCullough, and the biggest message was that I am wanted at Notre Dame. He wants to be my coach, and he will develop me and prepare me for the league.”

Heading into the visit, Notre Dame is considered the team to beat for Love according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 90.7 percent. Blue & Gold has a pick in for the Irish to land the four-star playmaker.
Love ranks as the nation’s No. 63 overall player and No. 5 running back according to the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Notre Dame has a pair of running backs committed in Derby (Kan.) High’s Dylan Edwards and Lake Stevens (Wash.) High’s Jayden Limar. Edwards is viewed as a “scat back” who could play all over the Irish offense and on special teams, though. Love very well could play running back and slot receiver as well.

On3 scouting summary on Love
One of the most explosive and dynamic backs in the 2023 cycle. Has a solid build for the position at 5-foot-11, 188 pounds. Ran 10.76 in the 100 meters and registered a 22’01” long jump as a sophomore in 2021. Backed that up on the camp circuit in the spring prior to his senior year with an electronically-timed 4.48 second 40-yard dash to go with a 35-inch vertical as well as a 9’11” standing broad jump. The speed and athleticism transfers over to the field on Friday nights. Led his team to a state championship as a junior and can score any time he touches the ball. Has true home run speed. Can make defenders whiff in a phone booth with his ability to change direction, as well. Possesses loose hips and plays with excellent pad level when working between the tackles. Rushed for 996 yards and 14 touchdowns on just 95 rushes as a junior. Efficient and hits big plays but has not carried the load of some of his highly rated peers. Has the athleticism to play other spots, like defensive back, but the big-play ability at running back points to one of the higher ceilings at the position among backs in the 2023 cycle.
