Tim Hyde on Notre Dame’s pursuit of five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott
“I’m going to stick with what I said back in January when he pushed his commitment date back. He was ‘that’ close to committing to Notre Dame, which tells me that he’s comfortable, likes the coaches and wants to go to Notre Dame. It’s close by and all of those things … I said back in January that Notre Dame would get him for all those reasons, and I truly believe that in the end. I love what he did — that he took a pause and a deep breath [regarding delaying his commitment date].
“He had a great visit last weekend, and we know he’ll be back again. That’s going to be big. I truly believe he’ll be Notre Dame when it’s all said and done.”
Hyde discusses elite tight end, four-star target Jaden Reddell
“He’s an interesting prospect because he’s coming in as a tight end, but has he ever blocked? Will he be a motion, H-back type guy? When you watch his 7-on-7 film with CJ Carr, he’s a mismatch out there. He’s a stud. I bet you he’ll be a five-star when it’s all said and done. His junior film is outstanding; he’s dominating out there. He’s a man against boys in some of the film I watch.”
