In a weekly YouTube live show at Blue & Gold, recruiting writers Mike Singer and Kyle Kelly give the latest on Notre Dame’s recruiting efforts.

While Notre Dame dropped Saturday night’s contest against Ohio State in heartbreaking fashion, there are lots of positive vibes on the recruiting trail for the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame picked up three new commitments over the weekend and is making moves with a handful of prospects. Mike and Kyle break down their takeaways from the big recruiting weekend and more.

2025 RB Daniel Anderson commits to Notre Dame football

Bryant (Ark.) High class of 2025 running back Daniel Anderson has announced his commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

The Notre Dame staff invited Anderson to participate in their Irish Invasion camp in early May, and at that point, he held zero scholarship offers. He earned an offer from the Irish after showing out at their camp the following month, and the likes of Arkansas State, Colorado, Mississippi State and Tennessee offered him in the ensuing weeks.

Anderson was on campus over the weekend for the Ohio State game and gave the Notre Dame coaches some indication before the trip that a commitment would take place. He announced his decision to pick the Irish a little over an hour before kickoff.

His relationship with the Notre Dame coaches were important to him committing to the Irish.

“From my first meeting with Coach [Marcus] Freeman, he immediately made me feel like he genuinely cares about kids as players and beyond and he has not given me any reason to think differently to this day,” Anderson said to On3’s Sam Spiegelman before making his decision public.

“Coach [Deland] McCullough has life experiences on the field and off the field that make him relatable. Knowing he has a background in education and he played in the league helps with establishing a good relationship.”
