Irish DL commit Sean Sevillano recaps first in-depth Notre Dame visit
Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International class of 2024 interior defensive lineman Sean Sevillano committed to Notre Dame June 2 after only taking one visit to South Bend.
And that first trip took place March 25. It was a shortened visit because he was traveling with a 7v7 organization that had a tournament in the Midwest. So, Sevillano’s official visit to Notre Dame the weekend of June 9 was very important for him to get a better feel of campus and to meet more people.
The 48-hour official visit did not disappoint.
“Man, I had a great time at Notre Dame,” Sevillano told Blue & Gold. “Being able to hang out with everyone — Coach [Marcus] Freeman, Coach [Al] Washington, Coach [Nick] Sebastian, Coach [Al] Golden and the rest of the staff — they’re all great people. I got to hang out with my future teammates. It was a great time; I wish I could be there all summer.
“It was really good to be up there, and I’m glad I made that decision [to commit to Notre Dame].”
As much as Sevillano enjoyed touring campus and learning more about the history of Notre Dame, much of his love for the program is because of the people in South Bend.
“Getting to meet with Coach Wash, Coach Free and Coach Golden was definitely a highlight for me,” Sevillano continued. “I love talking ball and hanging out with my future teammates. It doesn’t get any better than that.”
During Sevillano’s official visit, there was a total of nine Irish commits on campus. He enjoyed meeting his future teammates for the first time.
“Definitely the D-line guys like Loghan Thomas — he’ll probably be my roommate when I’m there,” he said. “I got to meet CJ [Carr], Cam [Williams] and everyone — they’re great dudes. Our class has gotten close really quick.”
The committed life has been treating Sevillano well for the past few weeks.
“It’s great — getting to lock in with Notre Dame,” the 6-1.5, 325-pounder added. “It was hectic on social media — lots of activity.”

Sevillano notes that other programs haven’t given up their pursuit of him, but he’s locked in with the Irish.
“Some schools are trying to stay in touch,” he said. “I’m fully committed to Notre Dame, and that’s not going to change for me. If a coach asks how I’m doing, I’ll tell them I’m doing well and ask how they’re doing because that’s the type of person I am. But nothing will change with my commitment. That’s how I go about that.”
Sevillano is on track to graduate from Clearwater Academy this December and enroll at Notre Dame in January of 2024.
“I’m pumped,” he said.
Sevillano is currently at home in Winnipeg, Canada with his family and will return to Florida in early July to start preparations for his senior season.
He ranks as the nation’s No. 559 overall player and No. 51 defensive lineman per the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking.
