Newsstand: Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard accepts Reese's Senior Bowl invitation
Come this winter, Notre Dame football quarterback Riley Leonard will have the chance to impress NFL evaluators with hopes of hearing his name called in the 2025 NFL Draft.
On Thursday, the Reese’s Senior Bowl announced that Leonard will participate in the annual college football all-star game. This year’s game will occur Feb. 1 in Mobile, Ala., about 30 minutes from his hometown of Fairhope, Ala.
“This is time to give thanks,” Leonard said in a video posted on social media Thursday. “I am grateful for so many things in my life, like my family, friends and teammates. I’m also incredibly grateful to receive an invite to the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
“As a kid from Fairhope, Alabama, I grew up going to the game and to have the chance to play in it is truly a blessing. So, I’ll see you guys in Mobile.”
Under Leonard’s direction, the Irish are the No. 5 team in the nation and have a 10-1 record. He has completed 177-271 passes for 1,937 yards and 14 touchdowns, throwing just 4 interceptions. He’s also been an exceptional rusher, running 112 times for 671 yards and 13 touchdowns.
