Circa Sports revealed a fresh set of 2023 Heisman Trophy odds over the weekend, and Notre Dame’s Sam Hartman is becoming more of a sleeper choice.

The graduate senior quarterback and Wake Forest transfer is now +3500 to win the annual award given to college football’s most outstanding player. Hartman’s odds rank 20th overall and 17th among quarterbacks.

That is quite the drop-off from where Hartman’s Heisman odds stood on Jan. 18. The ACC’s all-time passing touchdowns leader, Hartman, had +1200 odds, which was tied for fourth-best among FBS players.

Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams is the odds-on favorite at +450.

Hartman announced his decision to transfer to ND in early January after a historic career with the Demon Deacons.

In 46 games across five seasons, Hartman completed 59.1% (944-1,597) of his passes for 12,967 yards and 110 touchdowns. Last season, he had a career-high 63.1% completion percentage, the first time he was over 60% for a season.

Besides Hartman, no other Irish player is given better than at least +25000 odds to win the award. ND is seeking its first Heisman Trophy winner since former wide receiver Tim Brown claimed it in 1987.
