After a one-week layoff, the Notre Dame football program will return to action for its home season finale against Wake Forest on Saturday. And Circa Sports has released the spread for the No. 20 Fighting Irish’s (7-3) game against Sam Hartman’s former team.

According to Circa Sports, Notre Dame opened as a 22-point favorite for this week’s game against the Demon Deacons (4-6). The over/under total is 48.5 points. The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. EST on NBC.

The Irish are 6-3-1 against the spread this season, including 3-1-1 at home. Notre Dame’s (+3) 17-14 loss to Ohio State on Sept. 23 resulted in a push.

Wake Forest is 4-6 versus the spread in 2023. It has failed to cover the spread in two of the last three games. The Deacons are 2-2 against the spread on the road.

Notre Dame is 5-0 all-time — and 3-0 at home — against Wake Forest. The Irish last beat this week’s opponent 56-27 in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Sept. 22, 2018. They won their last home game against the Deacons, 48-37, on Nov. 4, 2017.
