FanDuel Sportsbook features two Notre Dame players in 2025 Heisman Trophy odds
After the college football season concluded with Monday’s national championship game between Notre Dame and Ohio State, FanDuel Sportsbook updated their 2025 Heisman Trophy odds. Two Fighting Irish players were included in the top 25 odds to win the most prestigious award in college football.
Notre Dame rising senior quarterback Steve Angeli is tied for 19th (+4500) and rising junior running back Jeremiyah Love is tied for 21st (+5000). A one-dollar bet for either player to claim the Heisman Trophy would win you $45 or $50, respectively. LSU redshirt junior quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is the odds-on-favorite at +800.
This past season, Angeli served as Notre Dame’s backup quarterback. He made five appearances, mostly in mop-up duty. He completed 24-36 (66.7%) for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Angeli has one career star on his résumét, plugging in for Sam Hartman in last season’s 40-8 Sun Bowl victory over Oregon State. Angeli completed 15-19 passes for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns, with quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli calling the plays of Gerad Parker’s offense.
With Leonard off to the NFL, Angeli will enter the spring with a chance to compete for the starting quarterback in Mike Denbrock’s offense. Denbrock produced the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.
Love, the only running back FanDuel listed, emerged on the national scene this season with 1,362 yards from scrimmage (1,15 rushing and 237 receiving) and 19 touchdowns. Seventeen of his scores registered as rushing touchdowns.
Seven Irish players have won the Heisman Trophy in program history. Wide receiver Tim Brown was the last one in 1987.
