Notre Dame vs. Miami University injury report: Marcus Freeman shares five updates for Week 4
On Monday, the Notre Dame football communications team released its pregame injury report ahead of Saturday’s Week 4 matchup against Miami (Ohio). During his weekly news conference, coach Marcus Freeman provided further context on five injuries.
Freeman ruled starting vyper Jordan Botelho and center Ashton Craig out for the season after both suffered knee injuries in the second quarter of last Saturday’s victory over Purdue.
As for starting right guard Billy Schrauth, who injured his right ankle in the first quarter, he is out for the game. Freeman said Schrauth would be “out for a few weeks.”
After junior defensive lineman Joshua Burnham injured his ankle against NIU on Sept. 7, Notre Dame listed him as questionable for the Purdue game. However, it ended up ruling out Burnham pregame. On Monday, Freeman said Burnham is questionable “depending on how he progresses this week.”
Lastly, Freeman said sophomore wide receiver Jordan Faison “should be full go” after he sat out last week’s game while recovering from an ankle injury. Faison was in full uniform against the Boilermakers but did not see snaps. Faison initially hurt his ankle in Week 1 versus Texas A&M, which resulted in him being out against NIU.
