2022 NFL Scouting Combine: Full results for five Notre Dame football participants
The NFL Combine is over.
Five Notre Dame players were among the 300-plus draft prospects who met with teams and worked out on the field during the annual scouting gathering in Indianapolis last week.
Quarterback Jack Coan, running back Kyren Williams, wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr., defensive lineman Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa and safety Kyle Hamilton were the Irish’s combine representatives and are their top draft prospects in this year’s class. Coan and Austin worked out Thursday, Williams went Friday, Tagovailoa-Amosa on Saturday and Hamilton on Sunday.

Their next pre-draft process steps are individual interviews with teams over the next several weeks and Notre Dame pro day on March 25. The NFL Draft is April 28-30 in Las Vegas.
Here’s a recap of their combine testing performances. If an individual testing event is not listed for a player, he did not partake in it at the combine. All participated in on-field workouts.
Quarterback Jack Coan
Height/weight: 6-3, 218 pounds (was 6-3, 223 on Notre Dame 2021 roster)
Arms: 31 1/8 inches
Hands: 9.5 inches (anything over 9.5 is considered ideal for an NFL quarterback)
40-yard dash: 4.9 seconds (seventh out of eight quarterbacks)
3-cone drill: 6.95 seconds (second out of seven)
20-yard shuttle: 4.39 seconds (fourth out of eight)
Broad jump: 9 feet, 7 inches (fifth out of eight)
Vertical jump: 33 inches (fourth out of nine)
Hardest throw: 55 mph

Running back Kyren Williams

40-yard dash: 4.65 seconds (27th out of 27 running backs)
Broad jump: 9 feet, 8 inches (tied for 27th out of 30)
Vertical: 32 inches (18th out of 31)
