Where Notre Dame football players rank in On3 NIL valuations
There are thousands and thousands of high school and college athletes across America. The one who has the 20th-highest NIL Valuation according to On3 plays for the University of Notre Dame.
It’s Wake Forest quarterback transfer Sam Hartman.
On3’s NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value. It establishes the overall NIL market and projected 12-month growth rate by measuring two categories, Brand Value Index and Roster Value Index.
The former measures the national licensing and sponsorship market. The latter collects data from all school collectives into a proprietary roster management software. The combination creates the overall NIL market. An athlete’s brand value and roster value hinge heavily on three primary categories; performance, influence and exposure.
When the numbers are crunched, Hartman is worth $1.1 million. There are only 25 high school and college athletes in the nation worth at least one million dollars according to the algorithm. Bronny James, son of NBA superstar LeBron James, leads the country at $6.5 million.

• How Notre Dame utilizes NIL compared to other college football blue bloods
Having a universally recognized name certainly helps. Texas quarterback Arch Manning, the nephew of Super Bowl winning quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, is No. 3 nationally with a $2.8 million valuation. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and current Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, is No. 9 at $1.4 million.
LSU superstars Livvy Dunne, a gymnast, and Angel Reese, a women’s basketball player, are in the mix at the top with NIL valuations of $3.4 million and $1.6 million, respectively. Dunne ranks No. 2 in the nation. Reese comes in at No. 5.
The only other Notre Dame football player in the On3 NIL 100 (all sports) is junior offensive tackle Joe Alt. He ranks, very respectably, No. 33 at $870,000. Sophomore cornerback Benjamin Morrison is just outside the On3 NIL 100 at $526,000.
Here are the 10 Notre Dame football players with the highest On3 NIL valuations as of July 11.
