Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman Nov. 17 press conference live updates
• Freeman is first asked about the weather. “You embrace it.” The Irish practiced outside Tuesday. “Prepare your mind for it.” Notre Dame practiced inside yesterday because it was too wet for a third-down day. Irish will be back outside today.
• Freeman: “There are no such things as cold tough guys. Go be a warm tough guy.”
• Freeman calls Notre Dame left guard Jarrett Patterson the ultimate competitor. “To this day he’s not 100%. He’s still injured.” Freeman says he is forever indebted to him.
• Freeman: “Leaders make people better, and that’s what Jarrett Patterson is.”
• Freeman says Jayson Ademilola is a unique player. Fun to coach. “He enjoys practicing, which is something not everybody does.”
• Freeman says “there are one or two guys that have an option after the season after they get their NFL grade.” Freeman says the guys who run out in the senior day ceremony are the ones who have the opportunity to move on from Notre Dame at the end of the year.
• Senior safety Brandon Joseph is doubtful to play Saturday. Jack Kiser is probable. Joseph missed the Navy game with a sprained ankle. Kiser was injured in the second half with a sprained ankle of his own.

• Senior linebacker JD Bertrand is “100% a go” vs. Boston College. Bertrand missed the Navy game with a groin injury last week.
• Freeman says Aidan Keanaaina is working with the scout team. He tore his ACL earlier this year. Freeman says he could help the Irish for the bowl game.
• Freeman says sophomore tight end Cane Berrong has been getting reps with the offense and on special teams. He’s been swallowed up on the depth chart this year.
