On Tuesday, Notre Dame football released its first depth chart of the season ahead of head coach Marcus Freeman’spress conference, previewing Sunday night’s season opener at 10th-ranked Miami (7:30 p.m. EDT | ABC-TV).
At Blue & Gold, we’re committed to a depth chart projection as well, updated on Mondays moving forward, and anytime there’s a change. The difference is we’ll go beyond the two-deeps for the sixth-ranked Irish.
A few things to note. Players with an -x after their names have been ruled out for the season. Players with -y have been ruled out for at least the upcoming game. Players with -q were listed as questionable in Monday’s official availability report from Notre Dame. OR denotes players tied for a spot on the depth chart.
Two new additions for out for the season are freshman safety Brandon Logan (left shoulder) and walk-on running back Dylan Devezin (left shoulder)

Also of note, some playing rotations are such that the line between the 1s and the 2s are thin or, in some cases, indistinguishable. And in the case of offensive linemen, the depth charts often aren’t linear. For instance, Sullivan Absher would likely be the first sub in the game at any of the three interior positions if he doesn’t outright take over the starting spot.
With Notre Dame shifting to eligibility year as its primary identifier this season for the first time ever, we will follow that lead, but clarify between a redshirt freshman, for instance, and a true freshman.
Heights and weights were refreshed at the start of preseason camp on July 31.
