Notre Dame releases depth chart for home opener vs. Marshall

Notre Dame has released its depth chart for its 2022 home opener Saturday against Marshall (2:30 p.m. ET, NBC). Here’s a position-by-position rundown of the starters and backups listed. Changes from the prior week are noted as such.

Quarterback

Starter: Tyler Buchner (So.)

No. 2: Drew Pyne (Jr.)

Running back

Starter(s): Chris Tyree (Jr.),  Audric Estime (So.), Logan Diggs (So.)

The three running backs had an “or” next to their names last week and kept the same arrangement this week.

Wide receiver

Starter: Jayden Thomas (So.)

Patterson missed the opener due to a foot sprain suffered in camp. Notre Dame called him a game-time decision. Kristofic started in his place.

Bertrand earned the start at Ohio State and played 45 snaps to Bauer’s 25.

Hart and Bracy started because Notre Dame played nickel base defense. Bracy led all Notre Dame defensive players with 63 snaps, while Hart played 48.
