How to watch Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl vs. South Carolina

Notre Dame wraps up Marcus Freeman’s first season as head coach Friday. The No. 21 Irish (8-4) will play No. 19 South Carolina (8-4) in the Gator Bowl, marking the first meeting between them since 1984. The game is in Jacksonville, Fla. at TIAA Bank Field and kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The game will be televised on ESPN, meaning all six non-NBC games on the Irish’s 2022 schedule will be on an ESPN network.

Any basic cable package or streaming platform includes ESPN. The game will also be available on Watch ESPN, which requires login information for a cable subscription to access.
ESPN’s broadcast team is Taylor Zarzour (play-by-play), Matt Stinchcomb (analyst) and Alyssa Lang (reporter). They have not called a Notre Dame game this year and were primarily on SEC Network during the regular season.
This is Notre Dame’s first game on ESPN of the season. All five non-NBC games were on ABC, including its two most-watched contests this year. Those five were a 21-10 loss at Ohio State Week 1, a 45-32 win at North Carolina Sept. 24, a 41-24 win at Syracuse Oct. 29, 35-32 win vs. Navy in Baltimore Nov. 12 and a 38-27 loss at USC Nov. 26.
The game vs. the Buckeyes is the most-watched Notre Dame broadcast this year, with 10.53 million viewers. That was the fifth-highest total of any regular-season contest. The USC loss drew 6.68 million viewers, making it the second most-watch of Notre Dame’s 12 games.

Last year’s Notre Dame vs. Oklahoma State Fiesta Bowl – a top-10 matchup – drew 7.597 million viewers, the sixth most of any bowl or playoff game. The 2021 Gator Bowl between No. 17 Wake Forest and Rutgers garnered 3.478 million, which was 15th.
